ICG Eligibility Criteria 2024
Eligibility criteria for recruitment of Navik (General Duty) and Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard in terms of educational qualification and age limit is available below.
Educational Qualification:
-
Navik (General Duty): One must have passed the Intermediate with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education.
Yantrik: An individual must have passed the Class 10 exam and he or she has pursued a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering from an AICTE approved Institution.
Age Limit:
-
Navik (General Duty): One’s age must not be below 18 and above above 22 years i.e. a candidate shouldn’t have been born before 01 March 2003 and after 28 February 2007.
Yantrik: Same as above.
Before applying for the ICG CGEPT 01/2024 for Navik (General Duty) or Yantrik, a candidate is highly recommended to check the notification brochure.
ICG Application Fee 2024
To apply for the CGPET 01/2025 for the post of Navik (General Duty) or Yantrik in the ICG, a General, Other Backward Class or Economically Weaker Section candidate will have to make payment of ₹300/- using one of provided payment gateway, and aspirants who belong to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes are exempted from it.
ICG CGPET Selection Process 2024
The selection process for the Navik (General Duty) or Yantrik in the ICG consists four stages, whose details are available below.
Stage I: Computer Based Examination

Document verification.
Biometric recording (left thumb).
Verification of signature and identification mark.
Identity check including live image capture.
Written test (based on post applied).
Stage II: Qualifying Examinations

Assessment and Adaptability Test (OMR based, qualifying).
Physical Fitness Test (1.6 Km run, Squat ups, Push ups).
Document Verification (thorough verification of original documents).
Recruitment Medical Examination.
Stage III: Final Merit List Preparation
-
Re-verification of documents.
Preparation of final merit list based on Stage I marks and vacancies.
Stage IV: Training and Final Verification
-
Candidates shortlisted in Stage III undergo training at INS Chilka.
Submission of all original documents.
Verification of documents through respective Boards/Universities/State government.
Final enrollment based on genuine document verification.
