NCPOR Project Scientist Vacancy 2024

There are a total number of 25 vacancies for Project Scientist I and II, out of total vacant seats, 18 for the first one and 7 for second. Candidates need to know that out of 18 positions of Project Scientist I, 7 for UR, 5 for SC, 01 for ST, 04 for OBC and 02 for EWS, and all 7 vacancies for Project Scientist II are for Unreserved.

NCPOR Project Scientist Eligibility Criteria 2024

Eligibility criteria for the post of Project Scientist in terms of educational qualification, age limit and experience are available below.

Educational Qualification & Experience 

Project Scientist – I (PS-I) Positions:

PS-I-1

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Marine Science/Oceanography or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years’ relevant experience in R&D activities.

PS-I-2

    Qualification: Master’s in Marine Sciences/Marine Chemistry or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of experience in research & development in ocean biogeochemistry.

PS-I-3

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Physics/Meteorology/Climatology or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years’ experience in atmospheric observations or numerical modeling, preferably in polar regions.

PS-I-4

    Qualification: Master’s degree in Remote Sensing and GIS/Geo-informatics/Geology/Earth sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years’ R&D experience in glaciology and/or application of remote sensing in glaciology.

PS-I-5

    Qualification: Master’s degree in Geophysics/Marine Geophysics/Geology/Marine Sciences/Earth Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of academic/research experience in seismic data processing and interpretation.

PS-I-6

    Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Minimum two years post qualification experience in planning & execution of new Electrical projects.

PS-I-7

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Earth Science/Geology/Marine Geology/Marine Science or related subjects or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years’ R&D experience in paleoceanography/paleoclimatology.

PS-I-8

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Physics/Applied Physics/Atmospheric Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation/Instrumentation and Control Engineering with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of experience in operation/maintenance/handling of different scientific instruments.

PS-I-9

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences/Oceanography/Physics/Earth system sciences or equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Experience in observation and study of the atmosphere.

PS-I-10

    Qualification: M.Sc Degree in Geology/Applied Geology/M.Sc. Tech Geology or its equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years of research experience in geomorphology/sedimentology.

PS-I-11

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geophysics/Marine Geophysics/Geology/Marine Sciences/Earth Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of academic/research experience in seismic data processing and interpretation.

PS-I-12

    Qualification: Master’s degree in Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/Marine Geophysics or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of relevant experience in R&D.

PS-I-13

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/Marine Geophysics or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of experience in marine geophysics with exposure to GIS and programming.

PS-I-14

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Marine Geology/Geochemistry/Earth Sciences/Geological Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of experience in sediment geochemistry/rock geochemistry.

PS-I-15

    Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Marine Engg./Naval Architecture/Mechanical Engg./Electrical Engg. with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Two years of relevant experience in ship operations/ship management.

Project Scientist – II (PS-II) Positions:

PS-II-1

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Oceanography/Atmospheric Sciences/Marine Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years in relevant R&D.

PS-II-2

    Qualification: Master’s degree in Geology/Earth Sciences/Marine Science/Chemistry/Environmental sciences with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years’ relevant experience in R&D.

PS-II-3

    Qualification: Master’s degree in Remote Sensing and GIS/Geo-informatics/Geology/Earth sciences with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years’ R&D experience in glaciology and/or application of remote sensing in glaciology.

PS-II-4

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Chemistry/Environmental Economics or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or Technology with at least first class (60%) marks.

    Experience: Three years’ R&D experience in environmental monitoring/impact assessment/analysis.

PS-II-5

    Qualification: M.Sc. in Geophysics/Marine Geophysics/Geology/Marine Sciences/Earth Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years’ academic/research experience in seismic data processing and interpretation.

PS-II-6

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences/Oceanography/Physics/Earth system sciences or equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years’ experience in observation and study of the atmosphere.

PS-II-7

    Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geophysics/Marine Geophysics/Geology/Marine Sciences/Earth Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks.

    Experience: Three years of academic/research experience in seismic data processing and interpretation.

Age Limit:

PS-I-1 to PS-I-15: One’s age must not be below 18 and above 35 years.

PS-II-1 to PS-II-7: An individual must be between 18 and 40 years.
